Is GoCord really free?
Yes. Completely free, no premium tiers, no paywalls. Communication shouldn't cost you anything — or your privacy.
Why don't you require age verification?
Because we don't need it. We don't collect sensitive data, we have no ad-based infrastructure, and we trust our community.
How good is the voice quality really?
We use the Opus codec at up to 256+ kbps — plus echo cancellation, noise suppression, a 3-band EQ and compressor. The result: clear, low-latency voice that works even on slower connections.
What does end-to-end encryption mean in GoCord?
Private chats and direct calls are end-to-end encrypted. Only you and the other person can read the content. Server messages are encrypted on the server side.
Can I self-host GoCord?
Self-hosting is already in planning. The server is built to be deployable — stay tuned for documentation and guides.
Is GoCord a stable product?
GoCord is a community hobby project that is still in early development. There are bugs and missing features — but we're actively working on it and openly communicating about the state of things.
Will bots be supported?
Bot development for GoCord is actively in progress. You'll be able to create your own bots for your server soon.
